How to tell us about material on Inviteables that you believe infringes your copyright, and what happens next. Last updated 22 August 2026.

What a notice needs to contain

So that we can act on it, please include:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the work you say has been infringed.
• The specific location of the material — a link to the page, and enough detail to identify the individual photo or invitation.
• Your name, address, telephone number and email.
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

Misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

What we do

On receiving a complete notice we remove or disable access to the material. Where the material is an invitation, we tell the account that made it, and they may send a counter-notification if they believe the removal was a mistake or a misidentification. Photographs in a guest album are uploaded without an account, so there is usually nobody for us to notify; we tell the host of that event instead.

Counter-notification

If something of yours was removed and you believe that was a mistake, send the agent above a counter-notification containing:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, for the district where we may be found) and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.

We pass it to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within ten business days that they have gone to court, we restore the material within ten to fourteen business days of receiving your counter-notification.

Repeat infringers

We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe, and we may remove an event album and cancel the account behind it. What counts as "repeatedly" depends on the circumstances, and we apply it as a matter of practice rather than as a formality. We keep a record of the notices received against each account so that we can.

Reporting something other than copyright

Anyone can upload photographs to an event album by scanning its code. If you have found content that is abusive, sexual, involves a child, or was shared without the consent of the person in it, report it to abuse@inviteables.com rather than to the copyright address above — it is handled differently and more urgently.

If you simply appear in a photograph and want it taken down, you don't need any of the above: our privacy policy says what we need in order to find it, and the request can go to hello@inviteables.com.
